Our services are tailored meet these criteria. We provide support for teachers and coaches to enhance and elevate their classroom experiences. 

We provide high quality tournament materials and support for tournament directors so that they can offer a high quality debate experience for all students. 

 

Finally, we offer individual coaching, group coaching, and a Sunday morning debate prep class for students to further practice and hone their skills.

Our Services

Our services are all centered with the best interests of the student at heart. Whether you are a coach that is preparing your team for a tournament, a teacher that is teaching a debate class, or a student that wants to practice their debate skills, we have something for you.

Evidence and Topic Packets

The PF and LD packets come with at least 30 cards for the aff/pro and neg/con each, a topic paper, a sample aff/pro and neg/con case, and a topic PowerPoint.

 
$30 per resolution

$130 for Nov/Dec through March package
$45 for NSDA Nationals, The ToC, or NCFL Nationals. 

 

Congress Package

Topic Analysis for history/background, current issues, and speech ideas for any bill or resolution. This is a great package for large tournament prep.

$5 per bill/resolution – please submit all legislations a minimum of 5 days before prep is needed

Extemp and Impromptu Package

20 IX and 20 DX questions and 20 Spontaneous/Impromptu Prompts. 60 prompts each week guarantees you will be ready for practice.

$10 per week OR

$30 for 1 calendar month

Classroom PowerPoints or Activities

Request driven resources created to match the topics, skills, and objectives you desire.

 

$20 – 30 per PowerPoint or activity – please list how many slides requested and/or how long the teaching period will be.  Longer and/or more specific materials will cost more.

Tournament Services

We offer a comprehensive slate of resources to make hosting a tournament easier.

Sunday Morning Debate Prep Class

We offer a fun, student-driven debate experience where students learn about new topics, explore how those topics affect their lives, conduct research, write speeches, and participate in practice rounds. Students also have the opportunity to compete in enrichment scrimmages and tournaments with students from around the world.

Our prep class is held on Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 10:30 AM Central (9:30 to 11:30 AM Eastern) online via Zoom. We offer Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions.

We focus on the current NSDA PF resolution. 

​

Private Individual or Group Coaching

We offer group and individual coaching for all speech events, and PF, LD, and Congress debate. We will work around your schedule to find a time that works for you. This is a great opportunity if you want to work on skills, prep for a tournament, or prep for a new topic. Our coaching sessions are offered online via Zoom.

Please note that we do not intend to replace your school coach. Dog of War Debate believes strongly in school-based debate, and we will always defer to your school's wishes. (i.e., we will not stand in as a chaperone for a student that we are private coaching at a tournament, we will not speak to your coach about why you should be allowed to go to "X" tournament, we will not endorse go against the wishes of your school, ect.). If you do not have a school team, you should consider the Sunday morning debate prep class.

$35 per hour for an individual student. 

$25 per hour for each student in a group coaching session. 

​

Group coaching sessions are limited to a max of 6 students unless other arrangements are made. 

Summer 2026 Online Debate Camp

Exciting news! Dog of War Debate is currently in the planning stages of hosting a Summer 2026 Online Debate Camp. This camp will offer the basics of debate, research skills, public speaking, and more. We will focus on PF and Student Congress.

Details will be posted in January of 2026. Stay tunded!

Founder and CEO

Jesse Meyer

Jesse Meyer is currently in his 20th year in speech and debate and 15th year of coaching. He is currently a 2 diamond NSDA coach. He is currently a freelance debate coach and Tabroom manager for the NYCUDL. Over the past 15 years of coaching, Jesse has coached 87 students to nationals in eight different events. His PF teams have been deep elimination round participants at ToC bid tournaments, and his LD students have cleared to round 11 at NSDA Nationals. His congress students have placed in the NSDA national semifinals. 

​

Jesse Meyer was the IFL Debate Coach of the year in 2015 and 2021, a recipient of a 9th degree Don Crabtree Service Citation, the Raskin Friend of Debate Award presented by Millard North (2018), Tournament of Champions PF Committee, NYC DoE District 9 “Hero of Debate” Award, and the NSDA’s 2022 Frank Sferra Director’s Commendation recipient.

Program Advisor

Joe Rankin

Joe Rankin has been the head coach at Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, IA since the 2005-2006 school year.  Joe Rankin is a 2 diamond NSDA Coach.  Mr. Rankin was awarded the Coach of the Year Award by the Iowa Forensic League in 2019.  Mr. Rankin received the Don Crabtree Distinguished Service Award in 2022 from the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA).  

 

In addition, Mr. Rankin has served on the East Iowa NSDA District Committee since 2014. Bettendorf has qualified approximately 147 students to the NSDA Nationals tournament since the program started in 1968, with the highest total number being in 2017 with 14 total students qualifying.  Bettendorf was fortunate enough to have a student finish in the Top6 in Extemp Debate in 2016 and participate in the Nationals Awards Ceremony.  In addition, Bettendorf had a student finish in Semifinals for Student Congress in 2022.  Beyond that, Bettendorf has had multiple students in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Public Forum Debate in elimination rounds at Nationals over the last 20 years.
